Beken of Cowes are perhaps the world’s most famous marine photographers. Having been in the business since the late 1880s, they have amassed an unrivalled archive of sailing photographs including Shamrock V, Velsheda, and Endeavour – the J-class yachts of America’s Cup fame. Even today, Beken photographers are regularly found in the thick of the action in the Solent, adding to their collection and capturing the spirit of the great events that happen on their doorstep each year – Cowes Week, Round the Island Race, and the Little Britain Challenge Cup to name a few.
